NEWS RELEASE: Youth Who Escaped OYA Facility in Florence Located

Youth was stopped in Portland for reckless driving

BrandonH_croppedBrandon Hansen, 20 (shown at right), was arrested by Portland Police early on the morning of Saturday, June 15, 2019, for reckless driving, driving a stolen car, and an outstanding warrant for his escape June 1 from Oregon Youth Authority’s Camp Florence Youth Transitional Facility.

He is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center. In addition to his new charges, he may face charges in Lane County for his escape from Camp Florence.

Hansen was committed to the legal custody of OYA in January 2017 on a charge of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He was transferred to Camp Florence from MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility on May 23.

Camp Florence is one of four step-down transitional facilities run by OYA that are designed to prepare youth for their return to the community.
