One youth ran away Friday while on a community outing from Jackie Winters Transition Program. She is not believed to be a risk to the public.
In OYA’s system, youth who have progressed from needing a correctional facility may either parole or move to a transition program. Youth in transition programs may have community jobs, participate in community activities, but will reside in a secure, locked facility. In this case, the youth were on an outing to the library and ran away from supervising OYA staff.
The youth, Charmaine “Char” Chee, is adjudicated from Jefferson County on an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle charge. She is 5 feet 7 inches and roughly 195 pounds.
A warrant has been issued for her arrest. If anyone sees her, please call 911, or if you may have information about her whereabouts, please call the Oregon State Police (503-375-3555).
